Best Portland Events in April If You Like to Drink

Is there anything better than hanging out with a drink on a beautiful Spring day? There just might be! How about hanging out with friends and having several drinks on a beautiful Spring day in one of the greatest cities on earth? Luckily, Portland takes its food and drink very seriously, and April is the perfect month for tasting the best brews, ciders and wines that the city has to offer. At Osprey, we’re all about sharing our love in PDX with as many as possible. That’s why the folks at Osprey have searched and searched to come a collection of can’t-miss Portland events in April geared towards connoisseurs of delicious adult beverages!

1. Reverend Nat’s 4th Annual Hopped Cider Festival

Make sure your calendar includes this as one of the top things to do in Portland this month! Hard cider has recently become a phenomenon in the Pacific Northwest, and Portlanders have mastered the art of turning a plain fruit into an exciting drink. Don’t get us wrong, we love fruit – but it’s always better with a little pizazz. We know Reverend Nat’s cidery well since it’s just 10 minutes from Osprey Apartments. On April 8, the Annual Hopped Cider Festival starts at noon, and more than 36 ciders will be available to your taste buds. You pay just $25 for seven drink tokens and a commemorative glass. Talk about a deal!

2. Bridge to Brews

Bridge to Brews is one of the few beverage-based Portland events in April that is fun and appropriate for the whole family. On April 9, you’ll have your choice to run a 10K or 8K for food, beer, spirits, cider and wine. Plus, the kids can try out a half miler. At the end of all the physical activity, you can you use your 10 free tokens to enjoy tastes from various Portland-based wineries, distilleries and breweries!

3. Portland Grand Tasting

While there are certainly several wine-themed Portland events in April, there is only one that is focused on showing off the wines of the Columbia Gorge. For just $25, the Portland Grand Tasting allows you to get to know and love more than 20 wineries that call the Gorge home. The official event is held on April 7 at the Leftbank Annex. An extra $25 can get you VIP entrance at 5 p.m., but general admission will begin at 6 p.m! Hurry while you can!

4. Portland Spring Beer and Wine Fest

The best things to do in Portland this month also include events that offer more than meets the eye. What “Spring Beer and Wine Fest” doesn’t make obvious is that there’s more to experience than beer and wine. In fact, it’s only natural that we showcase the Portland events in April that also celebrate the local food. So, while you’re sipping on your vino and suds, you can also try out chocolate, cheeses and other culinary delights that originate in the Rose City. Clear your schedule for either April 14 or 15, because this one goes from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. on each day.

5. Nano Beer Fest

On April 21 and 22, the Nano Beer Fest takes over John’s Marketplace in Multnomah Village. A $20 package allows you to choose 10 tastes from more than 30 local craft breweries and cideries. It’s worth noting that if you end up one of the first 500 people on Friday, you get in for free. Also, make sure to try your luck with raffle drawings that will be held on both days of the celebration. How could you pass up any of the Portland events in April that might give you something for nothing?

6. Hoppy Earth Day Brew Fest

Another thing to do in Portland this month that combines a run and a drink! The Portland Brewing Company Taproom presents the Hoppy Earth Day Brew Fest and 5K on April 22. The optional 5K costs $30 and starts at 12 p.m., just prior to the event. Then, during the hours of 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., you can pay $15 – $20 to savor 10 samples of beer! Don’t miss it!

7. Hood River Hard-Pressed Cider Fest

And, to round off the list of the hottest Portland events in April, we have come again to hard cider! On April 22, you can taste craft ciders being poured by more than 25 cideries at the Hood River Hard-Pressed Cider Fest. A $20 ticket will get you five tastes of various fruit ciders. There is also live music and a play area for kids, so feel free to take your time and make a whole day of it!

Portlanders are extremely proud of their crafts and culture. It’s why the Rose City has become one of the top places to live in, and the plethora of Portland events in April is just a small piece of the Portland pie!
