Church Discipline

I attended a conference on Friday evening and all day on Saturday. It was a blessing to be in fellowship with like-minded believers from California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, and Idaho who understand the significance of these prophecies, reject replacement theology, and love and pray for Israel.

This came at a time when just last week, the church we attend, threatened my husband with church discipline because he dared to share a documentary video about the October 7, rape survivors.

There was no "sin." No one talked to him in private.

The video came with warnings and my husband also pointed out that discretion was needed. However two of the staffers went ahead and clicked on the video - was upset and went directly to the pastor to complain. The pastor called my husband into his office and told him if he did not stop sending out news about the Israel/Hamas war and October 7th - he would be subject to Church discipline.

What is this? The Puritan Church?

Churches wonder why many Christians don't even want to attend a Church and prefer to watch it on TV.

This has been incredibly hurtful to us. I admit, I always had one foot in and one foot out of the church. I just wasn't sold out like my husband was. I noticed attitudes about Israel - and the Jewish people. Sometimes it is not what they say but what they don't say. It reveals a lot.

When I first become a believer back in the late 1980's - I got involved with Jews for Jesus in San Francisco. I learned a lot. Then I met my husband and together before we moved up here, attended a Messianic congregation in San Francisco. Along with a few others, Margie and her husband, we tried to start a messianic congregation here - to no avail. We did have a small group that met at our house on Shabbat and we observed the Biblical feasts.

Anyway, I hesitated to even share this here - then again, it's part of what is going on From My House.

We will be leaving this church but not until some restoration has been done. We want to leave in a Christ-like way. My husband is to meet with the Pastor tomorrow. Then we will decide when to part ways - there are ministries to resign from etc.

Then the fun part - trying to find a church that is pro-Israel - Did you know, that most churches do not even list the significance of Israel on their statements of Faith? That should tell you something.
