Touching Bases and Catching Up

Last week I was under the weather which means now that I am me again, I have a lot of catching up to do. I scheduled my DMV exam for Friday, Feb 2.  I have been taking practice exams and I pass them all but I still don't trust myself. There are some items I need to learn.  It's like I have a mental block. (Is that old age?)

It's not that I am sick about this exam - but it's like it's sitting on my shoulder and every once in a while, I turn, and it's there - reminding me that I need to get it done.

What a NAG!

My husband is off to the Falls today. Brandy Creek Falls in the Whiskeytown National Recreation area. Another mild day before the rains and cooler weather arrive. It is a 50 ft waterfall - reaching the upper chamber of the Falls, is like being in one of nature's cathedrals.

I'm looking forward to his photos.

He plans to be gone most of the day so that is exciting for me. I enjoy having the house to myself. Even though we have adapted to his retirement, I still cherish the times when I can have the house to myself. I can do whatever I want or do nothing at all.

Catching up

Yesterday after church, they had a fundraiser for the high school group. They served us soup. 2 types - Minestrone or Chili. It was good. We stayed behind and as they cleaned up, they gave us 2 more take-out containers of soup so that is what is for dinner tonight.

We have a substantial faucet leak - on our outside faucet that needs to be fixed now before it damages the house.  We also have a leak in the shower, behind the wall. Not good. That means they will have to go into the wall to fix it. What a mess.

My dad always told me I should marry a plumber!

All I can think of is the expense. My husband could do it - but he does not like plumbing issues. He can tackle almost anything. Simple plumbing is fine but having to cut through a wall - is just not something he is comfortable with. Plus an outside wall. This is a pending issue and I wish I could just pretend it doesn't exist. But it does...

Last week, my BSF fellowship leader asked me if I would consider leading a study next year. It was nice that she asked, but I'm going to pass for next year. We'll be studying the book of Revelations and I don't feel qualified. The year after, perhaps. It was nice to be asked.

I've got some other things I need to get done - folding the towels and unloading the dishwasher. Make a couple of important phone calls that I do not want to do. Finish my bible study homework -

Oh, I did a little grocery shopping earlier. Fun fun.

Thanks for stopping by - I really do appreciate it.

Take Care
