Let There Be Light

I dedicate this post to Ginny at Let Your Light Shine. It's just something I think she would post and like.

An Illuminated Wildlife lantern festival called Glowing Wild. coming to the Turtle Bay Area by the Sundial Bridge from Feb - to May. They are constructing the displays, which is part of what I saw the other day on my walk.

Here are some photos from their website. Looks beautiful.

2024 is the year of the Dragon. Chinese New Year is Feb. 10.

To represent the turtles at Turtle Bay.

On my walk the other day, I stopped to look for them. A few were laying on some logs - mostly they were in the water, watching me.

I have a lot of frogs in my yard. Mostly tree frogs but we do have a toad that we hear from time to time. It must be frog mating season because at night it's a seranade that sounds like 100's of frogs.

We don't have alligators but we do get those alligator lizards.

This guy is way too cute.

But in real life, you don't want to mess with a Komodo dragon. You'd lose.

UPDATE: Actually this is Chameleon. Duh!

This is cool -

As far as snakes go, the King Cobra demands respect. They are beautiful snakes - granted very scary too. Glad these are fake. I'm not a snake lover but they do have a God-given purpose. So I try to understand them and keep my distance.

Years ago I saw a movie that freaked me out. It was called Ssssss. Made in 1973.
A college student becomes a lab assistant to a scientist who is working on a serum that can transform humans into cobra snakes.

Freaky!

I'm really looking forward to this exhibit.

This actually is my favorite. It looks real.

So if I am right, I think those Geo-Domes were there for the crew - to...I don't know, lounge in? Maybe it was a break area? Curious.
