A BIG Bang and Snow Memories

Yesterday evening, I heard a Big Bang -  my husband was driving out to the city council meeting.  He texted me to let me know some propane tanks exploded and engulfed a trailer home on the road just outside our subdivision - about a mile away.  They blocked off the road to our area and there was only one way in and one way out. The scanner said 2 adults refused an ambulance and were taken to a Red Cross shelter. No one was killed or seriously injured but the home and property were a total loss. It was raining at the time so it helped put it out.

Hey, I had to get in on all the Snow photos too!

This was February last year during our freak snowmageddon. It's possible - it happened last year it could happen again!

We've been wet - hovering between 45-65 and we're warming up a bit. We did not get the extreme cold that our northern neighbors in Oregon and Washington received.

Our very cold Redding Eagles last year, incubating which as it turned out, wasn't viable. Egg-laying season is February in our area. They said the snow had nothing to do with the egg - think Alaska. Of course, all of us eagle watchers were concerned.

Laydee was totally enjoying the snow. She hasn't been in the snow yet this new year. We usually drive right to the snow line, stop, and let her play in it.

I've been keeping busy - with the normal stuff which isn't too much and I am once again digging deep into my family tree - with some new information. Every afternoon, I take my hot tea and go into the office with Susie, close the door - jokingly telling my husband I'm off to visit with my dead ancestors.

Not so much as a joke -  I am spending time, getting to know them better. My world subscription is due in March and I'm dropping down to the US membership so I'm taking advantage of the records I have now. Plus I added newspaper.com to my subscription. I'll cancel once I get what I need from it.

I'll leave you with this warm sentiment
until next time...stay warm and enjoy!
