Enjoying my Lavender Apricot Tea with lavender wild honey - I don't have much left of my tea and they are no longer in business but they did recently sell out to the place that makes the lavender honey. Last I looked, they were not offering the unique blend of lavender apricot tea.
There is a fairly new decorating trend - it's called Farmhemian.
A mixture of Farmhouse and Bohemian. I don't know who termed that -
I like Bohemian Farm better!
For fun, I thought I would post some examples of this Farmemian decor.
I like but I know for a fact my husband wouldn't. This looks like something out of the 60's and 70's. Just add a patterned rug, a bunch of different pillows, and spreads on the Sofa - don't forget the fringe. Treasures from traveling to unique places. Sprinkle throughout with a lot of green houseplants.
I am unable to have houseplants due to Susie trying to eat them. I mean, she even chews on fake plants! And what she doesn't try to eat or chew on, she'd probably try to pee in. I had a male cat once who was totally turned on by the dirt in my philodendron plant. I kept the cat and threw out the plant.
NOTE: You can have a ratty old sofa and use throws and it takes on that bohemian look. When Susie, scratched my last sofa and loveseat to shreds, I tried to do this - There is a special talent for how to drape covers on a sofa and I don't have it.
Pretty much more of the same - bright colors - more texture furnishings like rugs, floor and sofa pillows, and more plants and a terrarium!
Wait a minute - this looks more farmhouse to me. It must be the flooring...
Simple, unpretentious. I like it.
And that macrame plant hanger - you have to have at least one of those. Baskets and rugs on the wall...
Ohhh I like it. It looks like they went to a thrift store and just picked up some bohemian-type Stuff - Textures, colorful rug, mixing of colors, natural furnishing as in the bed trays - and the lamps. I like those old farmhouse doors.
My style is...whatever works. A bit of eclectic (because I keep old stuff) paired with new stuff, cheap stuff, homemade stuff - whatever works.
My Mom loved Danish Modern in the '60s and '70s and our living room, dining room, and their bedroom were walnut Danish Modern.
Now they call it mid-century modern.
All in all, it is whatever works for your lifestyle. As I approach my 70th year in a few more months, I'm not looking for an overhaul of my decor. Just little changes here and there - move pictures around, new curtains - I'm actually very content but I do like to change things up ever so slightly now and then.
So what would you call your home decor style?
