My new and final plan / Cattle drive

You know my Husband reminded me that I have successfully taken on staining projects - but I've yet to work with veneer woods -

Today I went out and bought some Kilz primer and that covered everything. Nothing should bleed through and yes, I plan to just paint the top an onyx black (I already have that on hand.) I will put on a second coat of primer just because I am sick of messing with the top of these 2 end tables. The coffee table, I will start on Sunday or Monday, and Lord willing, I will be done. And I have to like it. There is just no going back. I opted for the black paint due to the black glass. Of course, no two blacks are the same - nothing that a placemat or doily can't cover.

I looked - I hadn't seen a table that was wood base with a black top. Usually, it is the other way around. I do like the stain on the base - it's rustic.

I thought this was so cool -

Being a former "bay-bay girl"  - living in the concrete jungle of San Francisco - and Silicon Valley, when I see this, it totally thrills me and makes me realize what a good decision it was to leave the rat race. As I have said before, moving here was a culture shock at first but in a really good way.

Moving the cattle to new pastures / Eagle Lake.

So Autumn is coming and going - we'll have a few warm days and then it gets cooler. Today was cloudy and rain is in the forecast. I have chili in the crockpot for tonight's dinner.

I'm so looking forward to start my decorating for the Fall - yeah I'm late this year, but that's okay.

Right now, my husband is in the shower with Laydee - she has been itching so he's giving her a shower and then we have an anti-itch cream to put on her. Just dry skin. He'll blow dry her too (on low) I think that might freak her out but we'll see. We haven't turned the heat on yet. It's not that cold plus we do like it cooler than most in our home. I've been sleeping with our window open at night.

The last week we've been hearing a loud, moaning that sounds like either a bullfrog or a Toad. With the windows open at night, we hear him (her?) and Susie runs up and down meowing - My husband went out and sat but of course, it didn't make a sound until he came inside. It's quite LOUD. We have many frogs but this is a first. I sure wish we could see him.

Here's wishing you all an awesome weekend.
