One of the fascinating (and irritating) things about drawing 'tangles is the fact that, while you are painstakingly drafting a pattern, someone else has probably  got there before you.
This is what happened with the pattern below;  I worked it out many times before I perfected the different stages, hoping that it was my original design but feeling that someone else MUST have put this together already - it was too obvious. I searched for it on the internet - without result - and dared to hope a little further - perhaps I was right - perhaps I had Invented it......

Naah.  A few days later I saw it on a photograph on a zentangle blog site, Drawn as a bracelet on someone's arm.  (If I can find the link, I'll post it here so you can see.)

This next design is one I've drawn for years - it's another one of those rhythmic patterns which is so appealing to me.

The 'clusters' are 'my' pattern (I call (called?) it 'mussels'). Imagine my disappointment when I discovered it's not 'mine':

Seems there's nothing new under the sun. It goes to show how easy it is for the same thing (a spiral pattern, the telephone, electricity) to be simultaneously 'invented' on opposite sides of the world.
