My WorkSpace

Hello, everyone!

Happy week! Happy month! I hope you are all well! I must admit that I lost touch with many of you the last two weeks of October as a wisdom teeth removal transformed to a "nightmare" and kept me away from my tasks for several days. At least, I got rid of it once and for all after many years of annoyance and days of pain!!!

Today, I will welcome you to my working space. I was inspired to do so by WeWork, a coworking community that offers shared Office space across the USA, Israel, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. They're continually growing, and their spaces are ideal for startups and small businesses. They provide a place to share a space and enjoy a collaborative atmosphere, without a long term commitment. I don't know about you, but I think that this is a brilliant idea!

Back to my small two-bedroom apartment that lives a family of three and the smallest inhabitant is four, one is sure. There is no space for retreat. The decision to have my home office in the center of the House was a natural decision and a practical solution because from there I can have my eyes on my son wherever in the house he playsSo, in the place where everyone would put a large console and rich decorative items, I placed my Desk with the condition to keep it tidy and avoid cluttering in the most open spot of the house.

The decision for the decorating style was quite puzzling and the decoration has changed many times as my son is growing because, of course, he wants to sit there and "work" too, or contribute with his unique decorating ideas. I chose to place a tall mirror in the front Wall in order to make the place look larger. My collection of dried leaves and a painting that I've made in a 'transitional' period of my life and brought me luck, were my final choices for a wall gallery. Not too many, nor few and with small points of interest in order to give the impression of spacious.

For the desk, I decided to combine red color that is absent from the rest house, with the wenge color of the furniture and give this small space a distinguish character. A red lampshade and a red pot were all I needed. After feeling sad for many plants that didn't make it in my desk, I concluded to a cactus.

To enlighten these dark shades, I chose a white chair and a cushion with doodles, both bought from IKEA. And, for the end, my favorite rug, all-woolen and Handmade with the traditional Epirus flower design (Epirus is a greek region in the northern Greece that my dad comes from).

As for the pens, notebooks, other office supplies and the materials for the handmade items I make, I keep them all in drawers as it is impossible to stay on the desk for more than one minute. My son wants to write, draw and use everything. So, I keep them safe elsewhere and this is the only difficulty I have in my home office as I can't have my notes and my materials in front of me all the time. I hope to solve this problem in the future by making my own workspace exactly as I dream it, or maybe better ...!

Wish you all a beautiful week ... xo xo!!!
