Audi has introduced a new version of the RS Q3 crossover. The vehicle received a 2.5-litre five-cylinder TFSI engine like the standard RS Q3 thus extracting an additional 27bhp and 15Nm of torque to bring it into line with the latest RS 3 hatch. According to the press of the brand, the model that is called RS Q3 Performance will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2016.

The car takes 0-62mph in 4.4 seconds, which is four tenths faster than before, and the top speed has also increased to 167mph. According to official sources, the RS Q3 Performance offers a 27.4mpg combined fuel consumption and a 326.7 g/mi CO2 emissions level. The engine works in conjunction with the seven-speed S tronic gearbox.

Quattro all-wheel drive system transfers the engine power to the wheels through a multi-plate clutch, hydraulically actuated and electronically controlled. This dual-clutch transmission allows the driver to change gears manually or lets the car to do the work instead. In other words, Audi’s Drive Select system lets the driver adjust the performance level of the suspension as well as other dynamic systems such as the transmission and throttle.

An RS Sport Suspension lowers the performance variant’s ride by 20 mm compared to the regular Q3. Optionally, customers can choose an RS sport suspension plus with damper control and three tuning modes: comfort, auto and dynamic. Also, the new RS Q3 has received new bumpers, larger air intakes, a different grille, diffuser, spoiler, roof rails and 20-inch wheels.
