BMW 1-Series’ Final Test Before The Geneva Motor Show Debut

BMW has taken the new 1-Series sedan to the final road test. According to WorldCarFans, the debut of this model, index named as F52, will take place at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2016.

Judging from the spy photos, the design of the car will look like the ones of 3-Series. The new BMW will receive Led Optics, sporty front bumper and modified air intakes. The car will be built on the UKL platform. The Engine range will include three- and four-cylinder engines. The base version of the car will be offered with a front-wheel drive setup and more expensive versions will have an all-wheel drive system.

The concept of this new compact sedan was introduced last year at the auto show in Guangzhou, China. The prototype was equipped with seats in Nappa leather, orange backlight, glass roof and an infotainment system with 8.8-inch display.

Recall that in January 2015, BMW unveiled the redesigned family of 1-Series. The most notable changes are in the front and rear of the vehicle. The 1-Series has completely changed the optics, the bumper and the grille. Now the 1-Series can be ordered with the LED optics for an additional cost. The basic version of the hatchback is equipped with halogen lights.

The rest of the changes are technical related. The 1-series has received a new three-cylinder engine with a 1.5 liters capacity. The initial version of the 116i will be equipped with this engine. The unit provides 109 hp and 180 Nm of torque. This version accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 10.9 seconds and the average consumption in the combined cycle is not more than 5.4 liters per “hundred”.
