Lamborghini Introduces An RWD Huracan

Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2 got a little more modest version of the 5.2-liter V10, which currently uses its AWD counterparts – 580 hp against 610 hp. This model weights less thus compensating the shortage of the horsepower. LP580-2 weighs just 1389 kg, which is 33 kg less than the all-wheel drive LP 610-4 with. A seven-speed transmission with a double clutch is paired with the engine.

Nevertheless, the loss in weight can not compensate for the loss in horsepower: the new Lamborghini yields to the all-wheel Drive Huracan in speed performance as well: it gets a reduction in power of 30 hp which contributes to a 0.6 second slower 100 km/h time. But the fuel consumption in the combined cycle is quite “sane” for cars of this level: 9.9 l/100 km.

The two Lamborghinis also differ externally. So, for example, the LP580-2 has a little different front panel and air vents, different rear bumper, as well as unique 19-inch Kari wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires, designed exclusively for this rear-wheel drive Huracan.

At the presentation of the new Lamborghini, the boss of the company Stephan Winkelmann said that Lamborghini will have one more version of the Rwd Huracan in the future, as well as more extreme versions of the car. So, almost certainly, the next newcomer to the family of Huracan should be a rear-drive Spyder.

The price of the car is not reported, but it is rumored that the price tag on the rear-drive Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2 will be around 150 thousand dollars – about 20 000 dollars cheaper than the all-wheel drive version.
