This year the 1 May, Labor day, were pretty sunny so we decided to go to Liège, Belgium. It is actually a charming city. To be honest I had not expected that given its industrial past. There are many corners where the past and the present are right beside each other - interesting.

Diesmal war der 1. mai ziemlich sonnig daher hatten wir uns entschlossen nach Lüttich zu fahren. Ehrlich gesagt hatte ich mit der ganzen industriellen Vergangenheit der Stadt nicht erwarten, dass sie so charmant ist. An vielen Ecken treffen Vergangenheit und Gegenwart auf ganz interessante Weise aufeinander.





And some places are pretty amazing like the famous stairway "Montagne de Bueren" with its 374 steps in the middle of the city - oh my calves - my muscles are still sore I can tell you...

Und manche Plätze sind einfach erstaunlich wie die berühmte Treppe "montagne de Bueren" mit ihren 374 Stufen mit in der Stadt, meine armen Waden, ich hab immer noch Muskelkater...





And as a sucker for crime novels this square with a statue of Simenons Commissaire Maigret was the perfect place to eat the famous belgium french fries. Besides that place looked a lot like Paris:-)

Und als Krimi-Junkie gab es keinen besseren Ort als den Platz mit Simenons Kommissar Maigret-Statue um die berühmten belgischen Fritten zu essen. Außerdem hat es hier auch noch so schön pariserisch ausgesehen:-)
