Time To Pull Out The Loom

This Morning, I woke up, just after 6am. Summer mornings. In my opinion, there really is nothing worse. Warm and humid...yup, this is the morning I woke up to. Oh, how  I can't wait, for Autumn. Here it is, 7:44 am, and I am MISERABLE. I have already had to change twice, and will probably have to do so again, after writing this post. To make matters even worse, I have Physical Therapy today, at 1:30. There is nothing quite like a session of extreme exercise, in the middle of summer, to take it out of a person.
Anyway...
There is not all that much to report today. Yarn work was minimal yesterday. I wanted to get much more yarn time in, than I actually did. But, we all know that goes. There are just those days, where no matter how much you want to work with yarn, you just CANNOT find the time, or energy, to do so.
After finishing my post yesterday, I had a bowl of cereal. Then, I went outside, and played a ten minute session of catch, with my mom.
Good news to report. Yesterday, while playing catch, I did something, that I have not attempted before. The ball was thrown at my feet. (Apparently, my mother is not all that good, with throwing things.) "Well," I said, as I looked at the ball, "No time like now..."  And, holding on to absolutely NOTHING, I bent down, picked the ball up, and raised myself back up, into a standing position. Success! I have the ability to squat down, and raise back up, without assistance. I mean, this is HUGE news! To do this simple task, you must be able to balance yourself. Sure, I can balance myself when standing. That is getting easier, by the day. But, balancing enough, to do this...Well, it is much more difficult.
Needless to say, I am PRETTY FRIGGIN PROUD, of myself!
After a few more squats to the ground, I asked to go shopping.
I have a new cane. The way I figure, I need a nice new pair of shoes. (Actually, my therapist has been telling me for a while, that I need high-tops.) So, a trip to the mall.
At first, I had only planned on visiting one store. Foot Locker. Surely, they would have a good pair of shoes, for me.
Guess again.
So, what was supposed to be a quick trip, turned into a 2 hour hunt, for the PERFECT pair of shoes. And, I walked throughout the ENTIRE mall, using my cane. And, there was not a single fall.
Eventually, I found a great pair of shoes. Supportive, and stylish. It is really very rare, when both of these qualities can be found, in ONE PAIR OF SHOES.To make it even better, they were reasonably priced.
By the time I got home, I was BEYOND exhausted. And, even though I knew the Bliss Baby Blanket was waiting for me, I just could not bring myself, to work on it.
I did work on the shawl, for a bit. And, I did a few squares, for the Halloween Quilt.
And, then, at 8pm (on the dot), I went to bed.
Today...
Well, I am going to start my day, by looming. Since I have physical therapy this afternoon, I will take things easy, until I go in. I do not want to tire myself out, before going to my appointment.
And, that is it, for today. A short entry, I know.
But, there it is.
Until tomorrow...
Happy looming, and crocheting
