Great Heart Attack Decor for Valentine’s Day!

Great Heart Attack Decor for Valentine’s Day!

The easiest decoration you will put up all year (and cheapest, too, probably) are these Valentine hearts. Tell your kids you’ve been heart attacked

The hearts are found at your local party supply store if you want to go the easy route and have them pre-cut.  I have also cut them out of poster board before. You decide which you like best- I like mine shiny, my mom uses the matte finish hearts, there are lots to choose from.

You will need ribbon, your favorite black marker, hole punch, scissors, hearts and push pins (clear colored) to hang in the ceiling with.

My hearts were one sided- which is no fun- so I started by pasting two hearts together for each person to make a front and back. Then after practicing on one of the extra hearts with my marker- I wrote each person’s name on a front and backside of a heart. One for each person.

Punch a hole in each one.  I like to hang them by the corners, my mom likes to hang them straight by hole punching the middle, both super cute.

Tie your ribbon on. I make it very long and curl up the extra ends to hang down from the ceiling.  My sister uses all different colored ribbons which is also adorable! Pretty much any color along the lines of red, white and pink will be perfect.

Now precariously stand on your table poking the push pin through the ribbon and into the ceiling. I like this method because the holes are so small you can never tell they are there after you have taken them down, and I’m pretty sure trying to tape them well enough would test anyone’s sanity!

The kids love this decoration- they just love seeing their own names!  You can see we have hung one for the new baby arriving this year- we don’t leave anyone out:) My mom hangs one for all her grandchildren and one for each of the married couples.  The grand kids adore picking out all the cousins names and of course, seeing their own!

I put them up about 3 weeks before valentine’s day and they stay up until the end of February, because I heart them.
