t is a vintage Japanese magazine print (4 pages). The magazine picked and talked about Ukiyo-e paintings related with "woman and water". One is called A View Of Hara by Keisai Eisen (渓斎 英泉, 1790 – 1848) a Japanese ukiyo-e artist who specialised in bijinga (pictures of beautiful women). His best works, including his ōkubi-e ("large head pictures"), are considered to be masterpieces of the "decadent" Bunsei Era (1818–1830).

"A View of Hara" one of Fifty - three Stages of the Tokaido / Hara, Station No. 14 by Eisen From an untitled series of beauties on the Tokaido Road. He made beauty portraits in the foreground with landscapes above after Hiroshige's "Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido".

Background is Mount Fuji. There are carriers carrying palanquins on the road. The woman was caught in a (sudden) shower and wrung out her dress after shower was gone.

There is a "Haiku" Japanese poetry - a very short form of Japanese poetry typically characterised by three qualities: It says "Yudachi mo Ashi no shita nari Fujin no Yama". (Sudden shower was stopped and just puddles under her feet. Now people can see beautiful mountain, Mount Fuji clearly ".

Another page has two. On the top, "Fukagawa no Okizuri" by Kuniyasu Utagawa. He painted beautiful women fishing on the boats in the river called "Fukagawa", Tokyo. On the bottom, "Kyakuokuri Bijin" (beautiful woman for seeing customers off). There is a beautiful woman seeing off customers taking boats to travel.

We were lucky enough to come across a collection of papers, prints, magazine cut outs, newspaper clippings and more. This was someone's life long hobby and wow.....there are some very cool items!
