The 23rd International Chess Festival “Liepajas Rokade 2016″ is taking place from 4-7th August at the Hotel Fontaine Royal in Liepaja, Latvia.

The Festival consists of Open Rapid, Blitz, Team and Super Rapid tournaments.

The first event was Open Rapid which run on 4-5th August through 13 rounds with the time control 15 min + 5 sec.

Russian Grandmaster Vladimir Fedoseev crushed the opposition to win the event with convincing 12,5/13 points.

141 players from ten countries participated, including 15 Grandmasters and 13 International Masters.

On Satuday morning there is Blitz tournament, and in the evening starts Super Rapid with eight Grandmasters.
