Disclaimer: This is going to be a different kind of post than you normally find on The Beauty of Life. It's an OOTD of sorts -- but with a wider message.
What makes you happy? This is a question I've been asking myself for a long time -- and, frankly, until I moved to LA, I really wasn't sure how to answer it. But these past two and a half years have proven to me, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that when you really work on making yourself happy and healthy, you can achieve anything.
I think back to who I was when I first arrived in LA. At my core, I was still the same person I am today -- hardworking, creative, forward thinking, a steadfast friend. But, by the same token, I wasn't really HAPPY. I was just kind of existing -- floating in space, trying to find my groove, attempting to figure out my life. And then LA happened.
Immediately, it's like a light switch went on in my entire soul. THIS was what I'd been missing. THIS was what I'd been craving.
And so, for the past two and a half years, I've focused on being happy. I've done some pretty extensive therapy and soul searching, and I've spent a lot of time working on making my mind, body and soul healthy and happy. But I also think LA is just the right place for me. The sunshine outside has made its way into my very being.
Is this to say all things are rosy all the time? No. I still have challenges and struggles. I still have guys ghost me, annoying things happen at work, disagreements with friends and family. But does it mean I work really hard to have a positive outlook and a healthy, happy life? YES. I laugh -- a LOT. I smile -- a LOT. I feel happy -- a LOT.
