This window plaque is 10" wide. The back layer is acrylic to allow the sunlight to shine through. If you are not comfortable cutting acrylic then use wood and it will look fine.
The cross is 10.25" tall. The back layer calls for 1/2" thick wood and the front layer is 1/4" thick. Remember that the thickness called for on the patterns is only a suggestion. Sometimes the thickness is so the pieces will fit together. Like slot and tab assemblies. If that is not the case then make changes as desired.
You can also use wood for the backer if you are not comfortable cutting acrylic.
