This pattern is cut from two 1/4" thick layers of wood. It stands 10.25" tall. A little color on the backer board looks nice.

I often get questions about the internal dark lines of patterns. In Scroll saw speak these are called veins. The veins are cut with the blade. All the veins end at the edge of a part. Start at the edge and cut to the end of the vein. When I cut veins I leave the saw running while I back the blade out of the vein. I find that better to to prevent binding. Just make the same turns as you back out.
