This Glory to God cross is 10" tall. In the simulated image, I used contrasting woods so you could see the pattern better. That is optional when cutting the actual cross.
Yesterday's Painter's Tape Dispenser Update:
Several folks wrote to me yesterday suggesting that I add a piece of a hacksaw blade to the tape dispenser. That is a good suggestion if you plan to use the dispenser for other types of tape. It really is not necessary for Painter's tape. Painter's tape tears so easily that the wood surface is all you really need. The blade might give you a cleaner cut though.
If you like the idea of using the blade then cut the blade 2.5" long. You will just have enough room to drill a hole at each end of the blade. I would use a small nut and bolt to attach it to the dispenser. Screws may eventually loosen. CA glue or two-part Epoxy may be enough to hold the blade in place.
Add a hacksaw blade if needed.
