It has been from my earliest childhood memories that I have cherished Laitumkhrah, there’s something special about it, maybe it’s a mix of a lot of things, the cold fresh air, the cosmopolitian mix of people everywhere, you can literally hear the sound of almost every tribe in Northeast as you walk down laitumkhrah, the swishy café’s, restaurants and eat outs – everything from coffee cafee to naga food to local khasi food, it has them all, also must mention, just by walking down the streets of Laitumkhrah, you can feel the pulse of fashion of the Northeast youth, the way they dress. I am sure no city in India would be able to match up to the fashionable youth who are always updated with the latest trends around the world. Last by not to forget, you can hear the floating sound of the latest and old rock and pop sounds in and around Laitumkharh. And peple here are seriously into their rock music, from the Truck driver’s handyman, taxi driver, college going youth to the current chief Minister of Meghalaya.
