Money Talks

In the gaming world it's tough to imagine how money is made so rapidly. Sadly for one game it's easy. Yes, w are once again talking about World of Warcraft. A while back they crushed the 1,000,000 subscribers mark. At $16 per month times 12 that equals $192,000,000 per year in revenue from a game, that doesn't include the fact that you have to buy the game, now selling for $19.99, and the expansion comes out this month. However blizzard doesn't stop there, it zoomed from 1,000,000 subscribers to 7,000,000 subscribers monthly. That equals $1,344,000,000 per year. A billion dollars a year for a video game! That's crazy! They do it, and I continue to play and love playing.

Warcraft isn't the only game however that makes money. Xbox 360 sells games for $50 a pop, that's a lot of games, but rights go to alot of companies so the money spread out, plus you only buy the game once, not rent it monthly. I have started playing the original Everquest, and then started playing Final Fantasy XI. Niether game filled my niche for gaming. They both continue to succeed, but not as well as WoW.

So is the gaming world a big money maker? Not exactly. Like any business it can go bankrupt, have a hostile takeover, or just plain suck.

Today's market makes it hard for startup business's to get over the hump and make a profit. This makes it necessary to find a good market to play in. Remember though, money talks.

Just yesterday I went back into Friendly's for the first time. I hurts me to see how bad they suffer, and I want to help, but I feel bad for what happened. I guess Maria understood and she wants to give me a second chance, and she is my favorite Friendly's person ever, so I feel it might work out. I also need money, which can be achieved by working.

I have car payments, insurance, WoW, heavy food prices (because of my celiac disease), the works. Money is power, but power doesn't insure happiness. Just look at Bill Gates, who quit the most profitable job ever to work on his charity full time. He wanted to be happy, so I guess the moral of the story is, get a job you enjoy, not one that makes you the most deniro...

...and eat Hotpockets and live in a Trailer.
