How I Learned to Love the Bomb

Anyone who hasn't seen Doctor Strangelove really is missing out, while it may seem crazy and havoc like, it's fun and well thought out. This article isn't about me liking today's world, it's about how it really will end. The world's demise won't be from nuclear war, so if that is your biggest fear, don't stress too much. Earth won't be defeated by global warming, though it may end us up in an ice age again. No, the real threat is something much smaller, yet deadly.

Disease. It's something we can't really stop if it comes. It's not like we can put up a military wall around the entire United States and shoot at it. No, it will probably end up something like this.

A Chinese farmer comes home from a long, hard days work, feeling ill. Little does he realize he has the bird flu, which alone isn't going to kill his hearty immune system. At the dinner table he sneezes, spreading the virus, however somehow he contracted another form of the virus as well, and it mutated.

He gives it too his family, including his daughter who takes it to school the next day, giving it to all her classmates, who then give it to others. It spreads, and spreads, making it's way into Europe before we even hear about it. There is no vaccine as no one new about it till now. Governments start making vaccines, but it's becomes impossible as it becomes worldwide in a matter of days.

This new avian flu kills millions, and to protect your family you stocked up on supplies and now live in your house, never going outside. However soon people become desperate, as the stock market is no more, and people start trying to break into your house to steal your food, and your home. You fend them off with a shotgun if your lucky, but still more will come. All you have is the food you have stocked up, you hope that the avian flu will be eradicated before your supplies have run out, but sadly, it may not happen.

Believe it or not, this sort of thing happened before. Remember smallpox? Of course not, you're not old enough, but it was the same kind of situation. Millions of people died, more than World War I, or World War II, or even the Holocaust. This time it may be different, it may not be, however if there is another plague like in the dark ages, I'm immune so come hang out with me.

Why am I immune to the plague? Because I have O- blood, and for some reason it doesn't effect me. I learned all of this fine information from an online report, but I forget where, it has alot of interesting stuff. Like if atomic bombs does go off, it won't necessarily kill us instantly, but turn people into mutants and cause you to live in your basement again, and shoot people.

Pretty much the world wide panic is the scary part, if you die you die, but worrying about dying every day, all the time, it has to weigh on you.

So video games it is, therefore I can kill and not have to worry about dying irl (in real life).
