All Aboard: A March Release for Midland Fox

We are delighted to announce that our model for release in March/April 2018 is a Bristol VR MkIII in the striking yellow and red livery of Midland Fox (E20458).

This model shows the additional levels of detail we have been working on to further enhance our existing tooling. For the first time our VR casting comes complete with driver side mirrors, additional bodywork panel lines and enhanced tampo printing, giving the model an extra level of detail and realism.

The closure of Midland Red Omnibus Co. in 1981 gave way to the creation of five new smaller bus and coach operating companies, one of which was Midland Red East. The newly formed company operated buses from five depots, providing services covering Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. In early 1984 Midland Red East rebranded into Midland Fox and painted all of their fleet into a striking yellow and red striped livery.

Midland Fox's early fleet was mostly made up of Leyland Leopards, Nationals and Daimler Fleetlines but in 1987 two Bristol MkIII VRs were purchased from Devon General. Our model depicts VDV 112S, one of the two MkIII VRs that joined the Midland Fox fleet in 1987. Fleet No.1112 shown on route 185 to Countesthorpe via Blaby.

E20458 is currently set for a March/April release and is available to pre order now from your local Bachmann retailer, RRP £29.95.
