The New Mercedes A Sedan “Lost” The Roof

Mercedes A Sedan concept car can certainly be considered one of the brightest novelties of the Shanghai Motor Show. Mercedes-Benz officially opened a new chapter of its compact line of cars by showing the new small sedan.

The automaker does not hide that this car will not be among the concepts car that long, and that Mercedes A Sedan will soon turn into the Mercedes A-Class Sedan lineup. As you know, Mercedes rarely limits to one or two types of bodies in the class, so rumors spread about the corresponding convertible almost immediately after the premiere of the sedan.

No sooner said than done. True, this is not a real car yet, and not even a concept car; it’s just a visualization made by Russian graphic designer Nikita Aksenov. Everything looks really harmonious, especially the sporty version with the concept’s Panamericana grille to go after the S3 and BMW’s 2 Series convertible. And the bright body enamels imposed on Mercedes A Sedan make the open car very effective.

If such a model really exists in the plans of the management and once comes to the serial conveyor, the A-Class convertible will be able to compete with the open versions of the Audi A3 and BMW 2-series.

By the way, Mercedes will expand the number of compact models to include not only new/new representatives of A-Class, but also GLB in the coming years. As you can guess from the abbreviation, the new car will be a small crossover, positioned between GLA and GLC. But, in any case, the first new serial model among all of the above will be the new A-Class hatchback, which will be built on the updated version of the current MFA platform. The debut of Mercedes A-Class hatchback is expected next year.
