Without debuting either in Detroit or Geneva, the Updated Mercedes Benz S-Class will appear to the public next month. According to the reporters of Auto Express, the already swept on camouflaged debutante will become the most technologically advanced car in the Stuttgart line.

Of course, all those security systems and all kinds of helpers debuted on the new E-Class will completely migrate to the S-Class, but the functionality of the systems will be expanded and the equipment will be supplemented. Speeding fines could be a thing of the past for drivers of the upcoming face lifted Mercedes-Benz S-Class following a decision to equip the upmarket sedan with an extended range of driver assistance systems, including a newly developed Active Distance function that provides fully autonomous acceleration and braking within legal limits over any given journey that is programmed into its upgraded navigation system. There is no detailed information yet, but Dr Michael Hafner, the Head of Automated Driving and Active Safety noted that the new S-Class “will take care of the driver much better than all currently available systems do.” The official also mentioned about the systems of autonomous management, although, noting that some “legislative barriers to autonomous driving systems” still “should be eliminated.”

In addition to the autonomous technologies, the update Mercedes Benz S class will become more modern due to new bumpers, new front optics and tail lights. Modernization will certainly affect the salon, but, the most important changes in the S-Class will probably occur under the hood – there will be new in-line six-cylinder units.

Where and when the debut of the updated Mercedes-Benz S-Class will take place is unknown. The automaker does not speak yet, limiting itself only to the “next month”.

Two major international motor shows will be held In April: a car showroom will start in New York on April 12, and another one in Shanghai on April 19. However, it is quite possible that the company has some kind of own event in mind, where the updated S-Class will be shown or the company will present the new Mercedes online.
