Audi RS Q5 Crossover To Debut At Geneva

Audi Sport GmbH (formerly known as the Quattro GmbH) will launch eight new RS models in the foreseeable future. And, it seems, one of the first new vehicles of the German automaker is going to be RS Q5. Audi Sport boss Stephan Winkelmann recently told Motoring that the debut of the “charged” crossover will take place next month at the Geneva Motor Show.
The new crossover should join the already existing high-performance models Audi – RS3, RS Q3, TT RS, RS6, RS7 and R8supercar. The new model will be located a notch up from the recently introduced SQ5 in the SUV lineup.
There is no official information about the engine of the Audi RS Q5 yet, but is rumored to use a tweaked version of the SQ5’s 3.0-liter V6 petrol engine or a Porsche-developed 2.9-liter V6. Whatever the case is, the power may exceed the 450 hp mark and 600 Nm of maximum torque which could see the RS Q5 accelerating from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 5 seconds.
In terms of pricing, RS Q5 is likely to cost more than 80 000 euros, considering that in Germany the price tag on the younger SQ5 starts from 65,790 euros.
