Getting to know the PFAFF Quilt Expressionâ„¢ 4.2

There’s always excitement when a new sewing machine lands on your doorstep. Last week I received a PFAFF Expression™ 4.2.

Many thanks to Donna and Paul Taylor of Taylor Sewing Centre in Brockville for lending me this machine for my QUILTsocial blog posts. Be sure to check out Taylor’s web site to see all their PFAFF machines and quilting supplies.

There’s always a bit of a learning curve when using a new machine, but I found this machine to be very user-friendly. I had no problem setting it up and starting to sew. The manual for the machine is easy to follow and has great illustrations.

Jennifer Houlden, another QUILTsocial blogger, reviewed this machine in 2014. She did a wonderful job of showing all the basics of the machine, so I’m not going to repeat what she has already done. But please, check out her excellent QUILTsocial blog posts at the following links:

There’s also good information on the PFAFF website. Be sure to check out these links:

I also discovered some very informative youtube videos for the Expression™ 4.2. Have a look at these as well.

Be sure to come back tomorrow! I’m going to show you how I used the PFAFF Quilt Expression™ 4.2 to make some improv house blocks. You can use up some of those scraps you’ve been saving for a special project. These are fun blocks to make – you don’t have to measure – just cut and sew!
