All fingerprints are unique..

Our Fingerprints are unique to us. No one else in the world will have the exact same prints. This is why Fingerprint technology has been used by police to positively identify people for years. Typically there are 3 types of patterns; swirls, loops and whorls. When magnified, the prints themselves are often very interesting and beautiful. This is why our Fingerprint Jewellery is so special and very popular!

Our fingerprints start to develop when we are in the womb. By the time we are born, they are fully formed, however the detail is very shallow. It can take a few years for the definition of the swirls and loops to become clear although the time this takes can vary from child to child.

In order for us to make our fingerprint Jewellery we need fingerprints to show plenty of detail with the whorls, loops and swirls clearly defined. This will enhance the beauty of the piece being made. As a general rule we suggest fingerprints from 6 years+ as these are more defined, however prints do vary from child to child so don’t let this put you off. We have previously used fingerprints from babies (only a few months old)! If you are unsure whether your child has a strong enough print that can be used to create a piece from our fingerprint jewellery range, you are welcome to send a scanned copy of the print to us and our design team will take a look. We will always try our best to accept prints.
