Lauran's Piece of Hand on Heart

There is one piece of Jewellery I wear every single day and always get asked about and that is my piece of Hand on Heart! Each of us at HOH is passionate about our jewellery and we all have our own special piece with its own story and memories.

When I first came to Hand on Heart I had two elderly family pets who meant a lot to me so I really wanted to get something with their paws on as a reminder when they were no longer with us. I took some of our inkless paw Print kits home and had some fun trying to get my animals to cooperate. A few minutes later I had some fuzzy labrador and petite cat prints to work with.

I’m not really a bracelet wearer and I wanted something that I could put both of my pets onto so I chose a Hand on Heart classic; the descending paw heart necklace.

Mac had particularly furry feet and Fluffy had an uneven paw pad so I kept that detail on my jewellery, making it even more unique and special to me. It is incredible how different each paw print we get into the studio can be!

I put Mac onto the large heart and Fluffy onto the smaller heart and the feeling you get when your animals print is pressed into the silver is fantastic. Detailed miniaturised prints perfectly captured on a necklace.

Working in the HOH Studio means I got to see my piece of jewellery make its way through each stage of the production process and watch it become a beautiful memorial piece.

When I first put my necklace on I shed a little tear! Now, not only do I have a piece of Hand on Heart, I have a piece of my two beautiful furry friends close to my heart always.
