Dust Off a Quit Book Blog Hop

Hello!  Welcome to my little corner of the bookshelf and thanks for visiting today.  I'm taking part in Bea Lee's Dust Off a Quilt Book Blog Hop.  Thanks so much, Bea for hosting this event!  It's been a lot of fun.  You can visit Bea at Beaquilter.

The hardest part, by far was choosing a book!  I have a huge library of quilt books and there are so many that I love, but have just never made a quilt from.  I ended up choosing "Little Quilts" by Berg, Von Holt, and Johnson.  This book was published in 1993, and I've likely had it just about that long!

My quilt was inspired by the Country Christmas pattern.  I changed the size of the Star blocks from 5" finished to 8" finished so I could try out my new Accuquilt Go 8" Qube.

Here's what I came up with.  I call it Little Star Quilt.  Creative name, huh?  Hahaha.

I used this Blue Moon charm pack of Island Batik fabrics that I received in a Quilty Box last year.  I've been saving them for just the right quilt.  I paired them with some other Island Batik fabrics from my stash.

The Accuquilt Go made it so easy to cut out all the pieces accurately and quickly!  See how the triangles are die cut with the corners already snipped?  This made the piecing so easy.  Everything matches up perfectly when you are ready to sew the blocks together.

I love the way these stars sparkle!

 Pretty folds.

I like this photo with the Little Star Quilt on a washtub hanging out on my front porch.

I quilted this top in an allover loopy meander with white Aurifil thread, and some Hobbs batting.

I used a coordinating turquoise rose print fabric from my stash for the backing.

I made the binding out of the same purple Island Batik fabric that was used for the inner border.

These bunny sisters are ready for a Springtime tea party.
