Snowflake Paper Plate Kids’ Craft

Snowflake Paper Plate Kids’ Craft is a fun project for kids to work on. They will love using fine motor skills to create a snowflake with yarn.

It’s always great to have some activities and projects for the kids to do during winter break. Especially if it’s as easy as this Snowflake Paper Plate Kids’ Craft.

Here’s what you’ll need for the Snowflake Paper Plate Kids’ Craft:

  • Blue Yarn
  • Copy of the Snowflake Template–Download below. All printables are property of The Crafting Chicks, LLP.
  • White Paper Plates
  • Blue Paint
  • Sponge paint brush
  • Blunt end needle, plastic works great for kids.

Step 1:

Print off the Snowflake Template and cut down to fit inside the white paper plate. Secure to the plate with tape.

Step 2:

Punch holes through the paper plate using a sharp object. Kids can do this easy with a nail. Just have the plate on a surface with cardboard or foam behind so the holes don’t go through to the work surface.

Step 3:

Tape the end of the yarn to the back of the plate. Using a dull needle, begin to move the yarn through each hole to form the snowflake shape.

Step 4:

Tape off the end once all the stitching is done. Kids can now paint the edges of the plate. We used a blue to go along with the winter theme.

Step 5:

Let the paint dry and then you are ready to display.
