DIY Homemade Acne Face Scrub

Every woman’s dream is to have healthy, flawless skin and radiating complexion. To achieve this, a lot of women spend hundreds of dollars on expensive cosmetic products on their quest to find the one that best suits their skin.

But, sometimes easily available and cheaper products, such as common household ingredients, can provide the same, if not better effects on your skin.

The plethora of beauty products on the market are typically loaded with substances that can do more harm than good on the long run. Plus, they often make your skin addictive and once you stop using them, your skin goes back to its old looks.  For example, if you use a face cream against pimples and acne for quite some time, once you stop using it, your skin will turn darker than usual. Not to mention that some of the products are so harsh they can even damage your skin.

Going au-naturel is an excellent choice when it comes to skin care because there is a long list of beneficial ingredients which can care for your skin much better than any commercial products. Mixing and matching these ingredients can create the perfect skin care product, best suited for your needs.  The following recipe is for an all natural, non-toxic, simply derived face wash which can provide all the cleansing power your skin needs without aggravating or over-drying it. This homemade concoction has just two ingredients and you can mix it up tonight at home.

Anti-Acne Face Scrub

Ingredients:

Baking soda
Coconut oil

There are no set amounts to this recipe and you can adjust it to your skin type and needs. People with sensitive skin should use a ratio of two parts coconut oil to one part baking soda, 2:1. Those who wish to exfoliate their skin should use equal parts of each ingredient, 1:1.

Combine the ingredients in a small bowl but make sure you break up any lumps of baking soda before adding the coconut oil. Mix it all thoroughly, apply it on your face, massaging gently and rinse with warm water.
