Blogging Friends! Good Morning Magnolia

Today I’m sharing the Good Morning Magnolia Bundle from the NEW 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog for the Blogging Friends Blog Hop! It’s an exciting time of the year when the new Annual Catalog goes live for customers to order from. I hope you enjoy today’s card along with the quick, time-lapse video I’ve created sharing the process I used to watercolor the magnolia for this card.

Good Morning Magnolia

Favorite New Stampin’ Up! Product

Well, this is only ONE example of all the new products that I love! While the Good Morning Magnolia set has been in the hands of Demonstrators for a month or so, I have just finally taken the time to play with this gorgeous set. I LOVE the BIG and BOLD Magnolia with the coordinating Die. You honestly cannot go wrong with a large image such as the Magnolia featured in the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set.

In addition to the Good Morning Magnolia Bundle, I’m also excited to share the new SHIMMER White Stampin’ Emboss Powder with you. The Shimmer White Stampin’ Emboss Powder is so cool! It has a bit of a silvery, iridescence. The magnolia is also stamped on the NEW Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper which is absolutely amazing quality.

Good Morning Magnolia Thanks Card Details

  • The card base is Thick Whisper White!
  • I stamped the large Magnolia with So Saffron Ink on the NEW Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
  • To watercolor the image, I’ve used the Watercolor Pencil Assortment 2 paired with an Aqua Painter.
  • In the video below, I’m using the Aqua Painter to pick up color directly from the Watercolor Pencil then coloring the image.
  • As I color the Magnolia, I occasionally go back to an area already colored to add more color as a way to intensify the colors and shading of the image.
  • The Magnolia is colored with Crushed Curry and the leaves are Garden Green while for the branch I’ve used Early Espresso.
  • Next, I stamped the “Thanks” with Versamark on Basic Black cardstock and heat emboss using the NEW Shimmer White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
  • A bit of the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon just adds a little extra pizzazz!
  • On the card front layer, I’ve flicked some of the Crushed Curry and Garden Green to add a little color.
  • The Magnolia is die cut using the Magnolia Memory Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Dies.
  • Adhere the Magnolia to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • I then added a few little “dots” of Wink of Stella to the card front.
  • To finish the card, I added sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment.

Watercolor Technique Video

Enjoy this Time-Lapse watercolor video showcasing the process I used to watercolor the magnolia from the Good Morning Magnolia Bundle. I am using Watercolor Pencils with an Aqua Painter direct to the watercolor paper.
