Grown With Kindness February Paper Pumpkin Kit

I love that each Paper Pumpkin Kit comes with everything you need to make a set number of cards or projects along with the Stamp Set. The addition of the stamp set helps extend the life of the kit. Today, I’ll be showing you how I took one of the kit elements and doubled the number of cards you can create with that pattern. Then, I have an adorable Topper that I made and stuck in the planter of a succulent making it into a great little gift.

Grown With Kindness Card

I love the card front with the collage of succulents. So, I cut it in half. Them, I cut one of the gray backgrounds in half. Yes, you heard me! I’ve now increased the number of cards I can create with the succulent collage card front.

The succulent card front is layered over the gray layer so the gray layer borders only two sides. I adhered the card front to the solid black card base using Stampin’ Dimenstionals. The sentiment is stamped on Velum with Fresh Fig Ink. My alternative card also features the die cut “You” by using the Well Written Framelits. The “You” is layered three times with Fresh Fig cardstock so it is thick like chipboard.

Adhering vellum to any project can be tricky! Whenever possible, I like to try to hide the adhesive used with vellum either behind embellishments or the stamped sentiment. In this case, I used glue dots to adhere the banner and hid the adhesive behind the stamped sentiment.  Then, I adhered the “You” with Fine-Tip glue overlapping the vellum.

Succulent Topper

Sometimes you need a cute topper for a little gift without having to wrap the “gift.” A topper adds a special touch. To create a topper, I start with a skewer and adhered a Fresh Fig Scalloped circle with Tear & Tape. Oh, I did have to “break” the skewer to shorten it but I know you can purchase skewers of various lengths.

On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the succulent in the cup. The succulent is colored using Mint Macaron and Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blends. I then colored the cup with Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends. Using the Stitched Circle Framelit, I die cut the Succulent and Cup. The circle is then adhered to the front of the scalloped circle and covers the skewer.

Next, I again used the Well Written Framelits to die cut three “you’s” from Lemon Lime Twist. I layered each “You” so it is thick and much sturdier. The sentiment is stamped on Whisper White with Fresh Fig. Using the Triple Banner Punch is an easy solution for making the fish-tails on the ends of the banner. The “You” attaches to the banner. Next, I added Silver Mini Sequin Trim on the back of the banner. Finally, the banner adheres to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I also stamped a second sentiment on Whisper White. Die cut the sentiment using the stitched circle framelits. I then adhered the sentiment with Multipurpose Glue to the back of the topper.
