Croatian Post Mostar joins in spreading awareness about cardiovascular diseases by issuing a commemorative postage stamp on World Heart Day.

The postage stamp is Heart Shaped and very beautifully designed in red colour.

World Heart Day

The human heart is one of the most vital organs in the human body.

World Heart Day on 29 September is the World Heart Federation’s biggest platform for raising awareness about cardiovascular disease.

Founded in the year 2000 it is a truly global event that sees individuals, families, communities, organisations and governments around the world take part in various activities.

World Heart Day is the perfect platform for the Cardiovascular disease (CVD) community to unite in the fight against CVD and reduce the global disease burden.

Every year there is a focus on a new theme, and this year the theme is creating a better environment for a healthier heart.

The goal is to inform people about heart diseases and strokes, given that around 17 million people die from heart disease in the world every year.

This World Heart Day is focused on what we can all do to fuel our hearts and power our lives.

Your heart is at the heart of your health. And it’s easy to give it the care it deserves.

At least 80 % of premature deaths from heart disease and stroke could be avoided by leading a healthy life.

Moreover, excluding the four main risk factors – tobacco, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity and alcohol abuse can also help.

In the battle against heart disease, the most important step is to educate the population in recognising the risk factors.
