Simple and Stylish Fig Dessert Recipe

Sticky walnut, Honey and fig dessert recipe


Fig trees are known by many names throughout Africa; Mukuyu in the Shona language, Vyeboom in Afrikaans, Umkhiwa in Ndebele, شجرةالتينin Arabic, and figueria in Portuguese. 

Fig trees grow in Africa from South Africa to Senegal and Egypt, Madagascar and the Union of Comoros.


North African Walnuts, Honey and Figs Recipe


Light sweet African dessert 
Ingredients:
5 large dried figs
5 whole walnuts
3 tablespoons honey
¼ cup chopped walnuts

Directions:

Cut open fig lengthwise and place the whole walnut inside. Close the fig and drizzle honey on top. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts and enjoy!
