350 Blocks Project, 2022 Wrap-up

The end of our 11th year of the 350 Blocks Project!

A bunch more quilt blocks made!

The Project Page is updated with our final totals. I’ll leave it up for a few more days, so you can check it out.

But how about seeing those year-end statistics? This is always my favorite part . . .

2022 statistics:

  • • We had 116 participants sign up.
  • • Of those 116, we had 103 reporting participants.
  • • Of those 103 reporting participants, 83 were considered active participants, by reporting in at least 6 times during the year.
  • • Of those 83 active participants, 59 made it past the 350 mark!
  • •There were 21 of us that made it past 1000!
  • • And . . . five of us made over 2000 blocks — WOW!
  • • The greatest number of blocks made by one participant was Phillis, with a whopping 6373 blocks. Wow! I can feel the heat coming off her sewing machine clear over here!
  • • Christopher came in second with 3570.
  • • And Barbara B. is third this time, with a total of 2331.
  • • The average number of blocks made by our group each month was 5595. Boggles the mind, doesn’t it?
  • • The total number of blocks made in 2022 by our entire group was 67,144. Wow! That just happens to be our best group total EVER!

Once again, I’ve posted an infographic on the Project Page, so you can see the year-by-year comparisons.

This seems to keep getting bigger every year, so we ARE doing this again, and I hope you’ll all join me. And tell your friends, so they can join, too! What’s to lose? There are lots of prizes along the way!

Before we kick off the 2023 350 Blocks Project next Tuesday (the 17th), it’s time to announce this year’s prizes . . .

Our December monthly prize winner is Cheree. Cheree ended up with a total of 934 blocks this year, a quite respectable total!

For the Project as a whole, there’s a Grand Prize, and three other prizes. I’m doing gift certificates again, so the winners can get exactly what they want or need.

The Grand Prize is a $75 gift certificate, and the other three are $30 each.

The Grand Prize winner is drawn from among all the Participants who made it past the 350 blocks goal. The other prize winners are drawn at random from among all the active participants, regardless of how many blocks you made, and it also doesn’t matter if you’ve already won a monthly prize — your name gets thrown back in for these prizes. The only rule is that you must have reported in at least 6 times throughout the year to be considered an active participant, even if you reported in late, and even if you reported a ZERO for the month.

So here we go . . . The Grand Prize winner is:

Ginabeth (624 blocks)

The other three prize winners, by random drawing, and in no particular order, are:

Tanya (1329 blocks)

Ceil (250 blocks)

Carissa (972 blocks)

Congratulations to all the winners, and as always, thank you ALL so very much for joining in and playing along with the Project this year. I appreciate all of you taking the time and making the effort to participate.

We’ll kick off the 2023 350 Blocks Project on the 17th. Again, no big changes to the rules, but I’m still thinking of ways I can make it a little more exciting — no matter what, it’ll still be easy, free, and have prizes! So be sure and check back in on the 17th to get signed up!
