Suan’s 36-Patch Quilt

Years ago, I made a 36-Patch quilt:

I finished the top in 2012 at a retreat, and finally got it quilted and bound in February of 2019! It takes me awhile sometimes, especially if the quilt doesn’t have a deadline — haha!

A couple years ago, I sold the quilt. However, my daughter’s personal assistant, Suan, was in love with the quilt, and was sad that it sold. So I started a new one just for Suan!

Made entirely from my stash (again), I tried to make it just as bright and happy as the first one!

I finished it in time for my daughter to gift it to Suan while she was in California to visit her in September.

Suan is very happy with the quilt (she cried when she got it). I can’t think of any better reason to make a quilt than to give it to someone who really wants it and loves it!

Finished size: 84″ x 96″
Pattern: From an online quilt along by Crazy Mom Quilts HERE
Fabrics for entire quilt: All scraps from my stash
Batting: Quilter’s Dream Poly Select
Thread: Superior OMNI #3022 Silver
Quilting: All-over diagonal grid by me on my Nolting 24 Pro
