Twenty weeks to make a Quilt, and we’re not done yet??? That’s right — there’s a lot of sewing in this one!
And I’m making zero progress on mine right now. I still can’t run my rotary cutter. Oddly, when I had my arm in a cast, I could still cut, but there’s definitely something different between breaking my elbow and having it replaced, because I’m a lot weaker this time around. It’s very frustrating, and it’s seriously messing with my mojo. If I had known that would happen, I might have worked a little harder on prepping some things before I had surgery! But since I’m generally a procrastinator, this is the situation I now find myself in.
But if you’re in on this sew-along, you know it’s not a race, and it’s a sew-at-your-own-pace affair. So, it’ll eventually get done, and I’ll keep doing what I can when I can. No pressure at all.
This week, we’re talking about Section Six — we’ll be two-thirds done after this!
Here’s my original Section Six:
Here’s my orange/low-volume version:
Section Six is another easy one that uses both colors.
Again, make sure you get your partial blocks turned correctly so that they form a complete block in the final quilt — just follow the diagrams carefully.
There is a partial seam in this section, but you should be getting really good at those by now! If you need a refresher, you can find a tutorial of sorts in THIS post.
Don’t forget to throw in extra scraps along the way for your filler pieces to give your quilt a bit more variety!
That’s it for this week. I haven’t done the check-in posts as often because I’ve had nothing to report, and I’ve been too darn busy with doctor’s appointments and recovery (I feel old). So I might check in next Monday, or I might not be back till it’s time to do Section Seven — but you carry on regardless! Happy stitching . . .
