Brunswick Forest, Block Nine

We’re nearing the end! Only three more blocks after this one.

Block Nine is called Tennessee Pine. Although it does have triangles, they’re a bit larger, so therefore, you won’t need as many, and they’ll be a bit easier to work with.

Here’s my fall-colored version. I was kinda hoping my gold print would give the feel of pine cones in the tree — haha!

Here’s my non-traditional version:

And here’s my scrappy one. This month’s color was gray.

I hope you’re working on your settings as you go along, so when you get to the final assembly, you’ll be further ahead. Each block’s setting is entirely independent from the other blocks, so it’s easy to do them as you get each block finished. Plus, that kinda helps spread out the work, and you’ll have something to work on as you wait for the next block to come out.

Today, I’ve got some quilts to show you from some other participants!

Shirley G. had her top finished a while back. She did this so fast, and I love the cool, green palette she used.

Candace has her top finished. She used the setting from the scrappy version, which you can find HERE. Candace has asked me to quilt hers for her, and I’m honored to do it. I’m excited to get to it, too, because I did not custom quilt any of my Brunswick Forest Quilts, and Candace wants custom quilting on hers, so it will be super fun to do.

Also, I love how she fooled the eye with her border — that’s a stripe fabric — it’s not pieced — genius!

And then . . . from the Maple Leaf Quilt-Along we did back close to the beginning, Christie has finished her Maple Leaf quilt! Isn’t this lovely?? She put her maple leaves inside Log Cabin blocks, and then used the barn-raising setting for them. She said she’s planning to hang it in her living room this fall. Such beautiful colors, and I love the little surprises, like that one purple leaf!

So that’s it for this month. I hope you’re getting along with your Brunswick Forest quilts all right. If you didn’t get in on it as a BOM, but would like to make your own Brunswick Forest quilt, you can certainly still get the pattern from Sew Sweet Quilt Shop. Just give them a call at 660.548.3056, and they’ll hook you right up. The setting instructions for the Scrappy version are a free download HERE, but you’ll need the booklet for the block patterns.
