Mad Dash Sew-Along, Week 6

Another check-in week — how’s it going? If I get any later with the check-in posts, I might as well just skip them — my mojo is flagging, and I’ve been extra slow this week. I blame the heat.

So much for that long spring I was talking about — we went from cold (40s & 50s) last week to sweltering hot this week (high 90s). The goats haven’t finished shedding their winter coats yet, so they lay around panting all day long, poor things. I hope we go back to more normal temps before summer kicks in for real.

But about that check-in . . .

Remember, you can find all the posts for this Sew-Along right HERE.
The Sew-Along schedule is in THIS post.

I’m making more progress! My tally sheets are filling up, and I finally made enough blocks that I had to break out the ziplock baggies to keep them sorted.

Since there are so few large 1/3-2/3 blocks, I put them all in one baggie, but I separated the others by size and type, each in their own bag. This is why I include some blank labels!

Becky has all of her small background blocks in a little box. Don’t they look so cute?

Tanya is making good progress with hers as well. Aren’t her colors gorgeous? She said her husband picked them — gotta love a guy with good taste!

My sister is done with all her blocks in one color, and is working on the other color. I’m still plugging away at cutting a few, sewing a few, cutting a few, sewing a few . . . I’ll get there.

Next week, I’m gonna chat about the filler pieces we need, and give you some options for using up even more scraps with them, and on the 23rd, we’re gonna start assembling our first section! I’m getting kind of excited for that part, are you?
