2021 Final Countdown, Task Two

We’re off to a great start! Some of you have your paper under control, and the rest of you seem to have a plan, so I can hear lots of progress being made! I’m off to a slow start, but I’ll pick up the pace here soon.

Meanwhile, it’s time for Task Two — are you ready??

Here we go . . .

Pick 3 easy tasks that need doing

This one may make you think a bit. And it’s a bit tricky, cos it’s like doing three tasks in one. But . . . these three tasks should not be gargantuan projects — just little tasks you’ve been putting off, but once done, will make a big difference in the start of your new year and the feeling in your Sewing space.

Here are some suggestions:

  • • Put the binding on a quilt
  • • Prep a backing and binding for a quilt top you have ready to quilt
  • • Add a label to a quilt that needs it
  • • Clean up a (small) pile that’s bothering you
  • • Back up your computer files, or
  • • Organize your files for easier access
  • • Clean out a drawer
  • • Clean off a shelf
  • • Clean up after a recent finish

Don’t pick any large project that will take days to accomplish. Just choose three easy tasks that you can do fairly quickly to get that feeling of accomplishment. Maybe it will make such a difference you’ll be motivated to tackle even more organizing tasks whenever you get the time. Or maybe it’ll just make your sewing space feel so much better, you’ll be way more productive on those projects!

Got a Quilt top that only needs borders to be done?

An old UFO you can’t decide what to do with?

A pile you keep tripping over or relocating just so you can work?

Some things to put away/give away/throw away to get them out of your space?

Need to decide on a good way to organize your rulers?

Need to clean off your bulletin board or change your calendars?

Is it time to clean and oil your sewing machine, or clean your iron?

Sweep up all the dust bunnies off the floor?

Change your rotary cutter blade(s)?

You know the possibilities are endless here . . .

Now is the time!

Think it over. And as My Cowboy says: “In the immortal words of yer boyfriend, ‘Git er dun!'”

I think for my three tasks, I’m going to:

  1. Recover my ironing board
  2. Mop the floor in my longarm room and put down my new cushy mat
  3. Clean the shelves above my mailing counter

That otta keep me busy!

We’ll have one more task to add tomorrow, so have fun with this one, and be sure and check back in!
