Springtime in Arrow Rock, Final Installment

I don’t know about you, but that seemed to go really fast! I can’t believe we’re at the final installment. Finished Quilt tops should be popping up all over! Some of you are ready for this one, and I love all the photos I’ve seen in the FaceBook group.

Here’s a sneak peek of Rose Marie’s sections 3 and 4. Such lovely soft colors:

Sections 5 and 6 are all that’s left, then it comes down to only the last five seams in order to be finished. So exciting to get to this point!

Here’s Section 5:

Here’s Section 6:

Remember, if you don’t want the borders, you can leave off those strips, and add your own borders once you have the center portion together. I know some of you are doing it this way, and I’m excited to see what you choose to do for those!

Once you have your top done, and your borders attached, all that will be left is the quilting, so let’s talk about that for a bit . . .

For mine, I used a pantograph called Butterfly Bliss by Patricia E. Ritter and Jessica Schick because it has large butterflies in it, and I thought my Flower garden needed some butterflies! You can see them in this photo if you look carefully. They’re mixed in with lovely swirls and leaves, so I thought it was just right for this.

You could, however, choose to custom quilt each individual flower, which would also be quite beautiful.

If you used all one background to set your flowers into, then you have a lot of wonderful negative space in which to put some custom quilting, such as swirls, flowers, feathers, and the like. Most of all, have fun with it!

Once you’re completely finished, don’t forget to label your quilt. In your packets this time, I’ve included a couple of possible label ideas, and you can use them as is, or as a starting point for your own label, if you wish.

And that wraps up our BOM for this year! I’m kind of sad to see it come to an end, but also very excited to see the lovely finished quilts that will come out of it. I hope to get to visit Quilt Camp next spring for a show and tell of them — we shall see.

If you’d like to attend Quilt Camp next year, all the information on next year’s Arrow Rock Quilt Camp can be found HERE.

Email packets are going out today (yes, a day early, just cos I’m so excited that we’re to this point), and those of you who get yours by mail, they are already on the way, so you should be receiving them real soon.

Before I go, I would like to give out a HUGE thank you to everyone who participated. It couldn’t have happened without you, and I hope you love your finished quilts and had fun throughout the program. Remember, you can always use the individual block patterns for other projects, so hang on to your pattern for when you need an idea for a flower block or quilt!
