I started AND finished this Quilt this year, so I feel it’s worthy of mention! It’s rare that I complete something in such a timely manner.
This pattern is I Heart You by V and Co., and I bought the pattern a long time ago, but had yet to make it. Before Valentine’s Day this year, I thought it would be a good time to do it.
I also thought it would use up way more fabric than it did! But I did use up some scraps and leftovers, so it all helps. I guess if I had made the larger version, it might have used up more, and I may yet try that sometime.
But I had a recipient in mind for this one, so I made the smaller size, so she can drag it around and use it.
The Background Fabric is left over from another project. I screwed up my setting idea for that quilt, so ended up with a lot of leftover background — it was exactly enough for this quilt, plus the cuff of the matching pillowcase I made to go with it!
All the pinks were pulled from my scraps.
Here’s what I put on the back:
I quilted it with a pantograph that has hearts in it. It’s called Sonnet, by Patricia Ritter and Valerie Smith, which came from Urban Elementz. What a difference quilting makes, huh?
And see this binding? It was made for a different quilt, and I forgot about it, and ended up using something else on the other quilt (smart, huh?) So I used it up on this quilt instead. I feel pretty good about that.
Here are all the details:
Finished quilt size: 54″ x 54″
Pattern: I Heart You by V and Co.
Fabrics (top and binding): Pink scraps, and a white-on-white for background
Fabric (backing): Hello Darling by Bonnie & Camille for Moda
Batting: Quilter’s Dream Poly Select white
Thread (for quilting): Superior OMNI #3002 Natural White
Pantograph: Sonnet by Patricia Ritter and Valerie Smith
I washed it so it would be all snuggly and ready to use. It has been reported that the recipient loves it. A couple hours after I gave it to her, her momma said she still hadn’t put it down!
