Next year, May 4-8, 2020, I will once again be teaching at the Arrow Rock Quilt Camp in the historic village of Arrow Rock, Missouri.

This will be my eighth year to teach at Camp — really? Time just flies! It’s always one of the highlights of my year. The little village is so quiet and peaceful, and spring is in full swing, so the weather is usually perfect (even if it rains some). The little shops in town open up so we can shop during Camp, and the food is always wonderful, too! Larry and Paula Blevins are our hosts, and they take care of everything so well, it makes the week go way too fast, but we have sooo much fun!

We’re housed at the various Bed & Breakfast inns around the village, or you can be a commuter, if you live close enough. I’ve stayed with Kathy at Borgman’s every year, and I love it there! (Could it be because she has a cat? Or because she lets me set up a sewing studio in her upstairs for the week?)

So next year, May 4-8, 2020, you could be joining us for a week of fun, quilting, good food, and peace and quiet in one of the cutest little historic villages you’ve ever been to!

There are still a few openings for next year’s camp, but Camp fills up really fast, and there’s only space for a certain number, so if you want in, don’t delay. You can get all the information HERE.

We sew all week in the little schoolhouse, and in the little one-room chapel behind the school. It’s a lot of fun — I can’t even express how much fun it is. Maybe you should just join us and find out for yourself!

You can take one class for three days, or take a different class every day, or any variation thereof. It’s up to you.

I’m usually the handwork teacher, but this year, for the first time, I’ll also be teaching a machine sewing class. I’m teaching my “What The Hex?” pattern, which teaches how to do set-in or Y-seams easily. We’ll be starting a quilt like this in class:

I’m also teaching a class on how to do embellishments by hand, since I can’t forego the handwork entirely! It’s my thing! We’re making a little hooped piece that teaches several different ways to attach embellishments to things, like a quilt, or a jacket.

This piece is meant to be a sampler of different techniques that you can hang up in your sewing space to refer to later when you need to embellish something! After making my sample, I’m really itching to embellish a denim jacket, and I know I have one hiding in my closet somewhere!

Quilt Camp Block-of-the-Month program

. . . starting at Quilt Camp 2020! I’m so excited about this — the quilts and all the sign-up details will be unveiled on the first day of Camp next year, so you know you wanna be there for it!
