7th blogoversary

Today, 24th April 2020, it's my blog's 7th  anniversary. I can't believe it's been so many years since I came up with the Idea to create The Monster Crafts (it was just going to be Monster Crafts, but it was already taken). Since then, lots of things have happened, and the blog has taken a very different direction that I initially had planned.

First attempt using my house as a background

I started this blog very inspired by a fellow blogger called Lola's mini homes. She made an incredible Monster High school and dorm rooms out of cardboard and I loved it. I wanted to do something similar but life had other plans for me and I didn't end up doing anything close to that. Soon after starting my blog, I started working almost full time and, in September, I started college, which left me with very little time to work on a big project.

I wanted this to be a mainly Craft blog, but truth is I've made very few crafts. The lack of time, space and, let's be honest, patience sometimes, made me put that idea aside, which was quite frustrating because I had lots ideas for that I couldn't make. Plus, sometimes I've struggled  to find the specific supplies that I need. I feel like Spain doesn't have the "craft culture" that other countries have, even though I feel that is starting to change. I hope that, now that I have a bit more time and space, I'll be able to make crafts more often.

When I started the blog I hadn't spoken english in years, but I still decided to write a blog in english because everyone I interacted with spoke english. My first posts... they're bad! I sound like a 10 year old that just started blogging. If you ever read those... please, don't judge me. I tried to learn by reading other blogs that were mostly targeted to a younger audience. I feel like I've improved since then, but I could still do better, specially if I proof read my texts before hitting "Publish".

I feel like blogs aren't as popular as they used to be, and there's been times when I've thought of quitting blogging, but I'm finally glad I didn't. As cheesy as it may sound, I feel like I've grown with this blog and, at the end of the day, I would miss it. I hope I can keep posting for many years and that you stick with me.

On a little side note, I'm doing OK at a personal level. I'm quite busy with college (that's why this post isn't more elaborated), but so far I'm OK. No one from my family has been affected by the virus, and so far everyone is fine. We're supposed to be able to leave our houses at some point in early May. I can't wait to go to my old house and finish moving.

Hope everyone is doing well during this weird times. Take care.

M.C.
