DIY Galaxy Spindle Ornaments

Remember those cool DIY Wood Spindle Ornaments, I made last week? Well, I still had more of those wood pieces, so I decided to do something different with what was left. These DIY Galaxy Spindle Ornaments were super easy to put together and they look so cool. I really love painting and definitely plan on doing a lot more of it in the future. I could sit and paint all day and just let the world outside disappeared for a while. I’ve really been struggling this year with anxiety and depression, but keeping myself busy with crafts is one way I get through it. What you need: Wood shapes, wood glue, black paint, glitter paint, wire, These wood pieces were originally going to be used for chess pieces, but were never finished. You can see how I glued them together here. I got so excited when I was painting these that I forgot to take photos of the process. Painting these were easy and fun. I painted the ornaments black first, then added purple star confetti paint and then told glitter paint. Be sure to let the paint dry between each coat. When the ornaments were painted and dried, it was time to add the wire for hanging. I hooked a short “u” piece of wire to a longer piece. Then I wrapped the longer piece of wire around the top of the ornament several times to secure. You can add a drop of glue for extra security if you want. Continue wrapping the wire all the way down your ornament. Don’t these DIY Galaxy Spindle Ornaments look so cool? I thought about adding star sequins to the wire or small gold beads, but ended up leaving these ornaments as-is. I think they look great just the way they are!
