I am so excited to show you how easy it was to make this DIY Moon Phase Wall Hanging. This is a fun project and easy way to bring the night sky into your home. Scout has recently become interested in all things astrology so I knew this would be a great addition to her bedroom. It was also fun for me to learn a little bit about the different moon phases and their meanings. What you need: felt, scissors, moon phase, printer, embroidery floss, needle Print out this moon phase printable. Moon Phase Printable You will need 4 circles in two different colors for the moons. Cut out 8 “extra” circles and set aside. Use the printable as a guide for the different phases and cut out. Using an embroidery needle and floss, stitch the two pieces together. I used a long piece of embroidery floss to hang the moons on. Tie a loop at the top of the embroidery floss for hanging. Now you’re going to stitch the “extra” felt circle and the moon circle together with the embroidery floss in the center. I was going to use gold floss, but since I didn’t think I had enough, I used gold thread. Continue working your way down until all the moons have been added. I added a tassel to my wall hanging with the extra floss, but you can tie in a knot and leave as-is if you prefer. This turned out so cute and you can customize your colors to match any room in your home. I created this printable with the meanings of the different moon phases, which has been interesting to learn about.
